Resumen A partir de la formulación weberiana de teodicea, esta pesquisa sostendrá la centralidad de la cuestión de la teodicea para la religión. No obstante, la definición weberiana de teodicea presenta problemas para su aplicación a textos de la antigüedad, pues, a juicio de Sarot, la teodicea sería un fenómeno moderno que marcaría una nueva manera de pensar sobre el mal. A partir de lo cual, el artículo pasa revista a diversas teodiceas mostrando la variedad de respuestas, colocando en evidencia (...) un panorama distinto al presentado por Weber y Berger. La pregunta sobre el porqué del sufrimiento que hace el visionario y profeta trasciende los modos habituales de pensar la existencia del sufrimiento y del mal en un tiempo específico para abrirse a la interrogación y protesta contra todo sufrimiento llevando a pensar de nuevo la relación de Dios en el mundo, de tal manera que más que hablar de una justificación de Dios por el sufrimiento y el mal en el mundo, la teodicea interroga y desafía al creyente y a Dios para buscar otras respuestas. Summary From the weberian formulation of theodicy, this inquiry will hold the centrality of the question of theodicy for religion. However, the weberian definition of theodicy presents problems for its application to texts of antiquity, because, according to Sarot, theodicy would be a modern phenomenon that would mark a new way of thinking about evil. From which the article reviews various theodicy showing the variety of responses, highlighting a different picture than that presented by Weber and Berger. The question about the suffering of the visionary and the prophet transcends the habitual ways of thinking about the existence of suffering and evil at a specific time to be open to interrogation and protest against all suffering, leading us to think again about God's relationship in the world, in such a way that rather than talking about a justification of God for suffering and evil in the world, theodicy interrogates and challenges the believer and God to look for other answers. La investigación actual ha puesto de relieve la centralidad del lenguaje de la religión para un estudio científico de la disciplina en Latinoamérica, esta afirmación contrasta con el hecho que el lenguaje de la religión ni siquiera es indicada en los manuales como una subdisciplina, o apenas mencionada como un área en construcción, esto muestra la falta de una fundamentación teórica sobre el estatus epistémico de esta disciplina. El lenguaje de la religión no se refiere al carácter instrumental del lenguaje (...) sino a una política del signo que constituye un sistema semiótico que está en el origen de cada cultura. Así las cosas, el artículo propone un modelo semiótico y entrega algunas pistas semióticas para un estatuto epistémico del lenguaje de la religión en Latinoamérica. A partir de categorías semióticas como las de lugar, producción de textos y textos límites, a partir de lo cual exponemos que el lenguaje de la religión produce textos extraños, límites, los cuales están vinculados a lugares de producción, prácticas, creencias, valores que configuran el espacio social y construyen el espacio de la religión. El artículo pretende poner en duda las explicaciones acerca de la existencia de una cristología de la exaltación o una dependencia de los dichos sinópticos sobre el Hijo del hombre y además pretende dar antecedentes sobre la vinculación entre exaltación y muerte en el texto de los 1QHa y 4Q491c presente en la literatura de Qumrán, lo que arroja luz acerca de la existencia de una teología del martirio que se desarrolló en tiempos pre-cristianos que integraba tanto los aspectos de (...) persecución y sufrimiento en el servicio a Dios como el de una posterior exaltación. El artículo analiza los textos 1QHa y 4Q491c mostrando que la secuencia sufrimiento-exaltación a los cielos, el uso del término «exaltación» y «glorificación», ya se encuentran antes de su uso cristiano. Estas pruebas demuestran lo arbitrario de algunas teorías que pretenden dividir los relatos de la pasión joánico sosteniendo que habría existido una «cristología de la exaltación» independiente del relato de la muerte del Hijo del hombre y postula, por consiguiente, la necesidad de una visión más integral de la cristología joánica. El artículo expone diversos paradigmas relativos al martirio en la fuente de los dichos, intentando mostrar que el cristianismo asumió y elaboró tradiciones judías relativas al martirio para indicar que la comunidad vivía los últimos tiempos antes del juicio, explicando el sentido de los hechos que acontecían y específicamente de la muerte de Cristo y los cristianos. De manera particular se detiene en el paradigma de la pasión del justo, el cual postula una inversión escatológica de los sujetos del eschaton (...) que sostiene el carácter bienaventurado de grupos o individuos que son víctimas de la violencia e injusticia. A través de los paradigmas estudiados: el destino violento del profeta y la pasión del justo, los textos muestran una comprensión soteriológica de los sufrimientos y persecución a causa del Hijo del hombre, que funda una nueva perspectiva del martirio. La presente investigación subraya la importancia de la intuición en el estilo cognoscitivo e interpretativo guardiniano. Se intenta por este camino ponernos en contacto con la experiencia guardiniana y con la propia experiencia que nace de la gracia del encuentro. En el centro del encuentro se ubica la intuición, siendo ella la que nos permite tocar el objeto concreto que se desea conocer e interpretar. A su vez, a través de la misma intuición, la persona se deja tocar por el (...) valor del objeto en sí mismo.El camino que Guardini nos propone, enriquece la intuición desde un grupo de contrastes que ofrecen una mirada nueva, y desde los cuales la misma intuición puede ser confrontada y purificada. De todo ello surge una nueva intuición (Anschauung) que debe recorrer, posteriormente, el camino de la conceptualización para hacerse visible desde la perspectiva del conocimiento abstracto conceptual. El camino de la intuición se abre así a un orden amplio de conocimiento que no se limita solo a la experiencia individual ni a lo que le es familiar o seguro. Por este camino, desde una intuición en diálogo y en una tensión vital con diferentes miradas, Guardini lleva a cabo su tarea interpretativa de importantes autores, de su propio tiempo y de la propia cultura. La finalidad principal de la tarea interpretativa guardiniana apunta a la figura de Jesús. Conocer a Jesús e interpretar correctamente la Sagrada Escritura plantea a su vez un nuevo desafío, al no contar con una medida humana que sea capaz de captar plenamente toda la dimensión de esa figura. Para el encuentro con Jesús, y para una adecuada interpretación de la Escritura, surge la importancia fundamental del principio de la fe en cuanto respuesta humana a la Revelación. (shrink)

Muito se tem falado acerca de avaliação unitária do que é publicado, mas pouco se tem discutido acerca dos veículos que asseguram todo o processo de avaliação. Trata-se de um interesse ingente da época – e interesse parece uma roupa bem mais leve para encobrir a palavra moda – que recai sobre a cientometria, que é o Cíclope que domina e percorre o grande domínio da produção científica atual. Sua ingente tarefa é metrificar essa produção científica pelo número de citações. (...) Mas esse Cíclope não poderia estar a fazer seus trabalhos de modo tão incansável nas oficinas do norte do globo terrestre, forjando incansavelmente números sobre números, coletando citações de citações, erigindo estatísticas e mais estatísticas, sem que os resultados de seus esforços não desabassem pesadamente sobre a pós-graduação brasileira. Não se precisa ir longe para entender fenomenologicamente esse processo, nem se precisa vasculhar a bibliografia especializada em busca de alguma explicação complicada e abstrata. Basta olharmos as lives recentes do período da pandemia, de 2020, e se perguntar por que brotaram em tão grande número, e por que tantas pessoas com perfil especializado acorreram às suas discussões. No final das contas, em um processo de avaliação sem coparticipação, elas foram o único modo de expressão e organização espontânea de grupos de pesquisa muito bem enraizados e que têm levado à frente a produção científica do país há décadas. Foram esses grupos que se organizaram, espontaneamente, para dar vazão à própria voz, e para dizer que passarão a ser avaliados por critérios que nunca nortearam a própria produção. É claro que se pode argumentar que os critérios de avaliação da produção científica sempre podem e devem ser alterados, e que sempre o foram historicamente. De qualquer modo, haveria de se discutir seriamente se o critério aplicável a um quadriênio poderia ser definido no final desse quadriênio, quando todas as opções editoriais, por parte dos periódicos, e de escolha de veiculação, por parte dos pesquisadores, já foram feitas, e se encontram cimentadas e encerradas. Também seria importante discutir se deve haver um mínimo de continuidade na passagem de um sistema de avaliação a outro, e qual seria o tempo adequado de adaptação aos futuros novos critérios que viessem a ser adotados. Fatores simples e imediatos da produção científica, bem assentados há tempos, parecem escapar à CAPES: que o impacto de trabalhos na área básica das ciências é bem diferente do impacto de artigos nas áreas que delas se ramificam; que algumas pesquisas tem interesse específico ou fortemente regional, justamente porque resolvem problemas acentuadamente aderidos a um contexto; que a língua em que se publicam trabalhos deve atender à integração e à formação de uma grande comunidade de pesquisadores; que a forte presença de artigos internacionais em um periódico pode expressar a força desse veículo, mas também pode indicar que ele atende principalmente interesses de pesquisa alheios à comunidade nacional, deixando de parte a missão de fortalecer o seu núcleo de pesquisadores, etc. E isso é apenas uma parte da história. Ainda caberia perguntar, no tocante à avidez de cientometria, qual o conúbio de interesses que ela atende: quem recolhe esses dados; com que interesses o faz; como seleciona e padroniza os dados que divulga; como os disponibiliza; como vende o seu acesso; como determina políticas de produção do conhecimento científico ao assim proceder, etc. Uma coisa é certa, todo esse conjunto de questões passa ao largo de nossos gestores, preocupados em avaliar os PPG’s a partir da produção atomizada de seus pesquisadores. Os periódicos, que são o veículo da produção, nunca entraram em questão. Altamente penalizados com todas as políticas que visam avaliá-los, nunca foram convidados a participar desse debate. Na visão de cima para baixo, são o polo passivo, lábil, sempre pronto a se adequar aos supostos objetivos maiores que os ultrapassam. É notável como os periódicos, que sobrevivem em sua maior parte por si próprios, são tratados como algo de pouca monta, como se fosse indiferente a sua contribuição na divulgação do conhecimento científico. Eles são vistos como um produto da evolução em sua concepção mais crua: estabeleçamos os critérios e que sobrevivam os melhores. Muito deveria e deve ser falado sobre uma política para os periódicos, mas, para não ficarmos em lamentações nesse fechamento de quadriênio, vamos entrar no terreno dos avaliadores, para averiguar a consistência da proposta de quem nos avalia. Sob muitos ângulos que se analise, sempre será direto argumentar que o fator de impacto – principal critério erigido para o encerrado quadriênio – é uma métrica importante para a avaliação. Concedamos superficialmente que isso é pertinente para avaliar a produção unitária de cada pesquisador. Muita gente imposta a voz para nos advertir sobre o quão responsável é proceder de tal modo. Ainda assim caberia a pertinente pergunta: Em que o fator de impacto seria útil não para se avaliar a importância de um periódico, mas para uma agência estimular e aprimorar a veiculação da produção do conhecimento científico? Pode um periódico que não veicula a produção em área básica ser avaliado em nível de igualdade com outro que tem esse perfil? Se um periódico centra seus esforços em uma subárea restrita de conhecimento, pode ele ser subavaliado por ter esse recorte editorial? Para entramos no terreno prescritivo, sempre perigoso para a vida da ciência, também podemos indagar: “Deve” um periódico publicar maiormente (nota bene, essa é uma questão para o avaliador, e só ele, responder) os assuntos que reconhecidamente têm tendência a ter um maior fator de impacto? “Deve” um periódico ter como sua missão editorial prioritária publicar artigos com alto fator de impacto, e se organizar para tanto, uma vez que isso passa a medir sua excelência? E indo mais além, e penetrando no fulcro do processo de avaliação, também é pertinente perguntar: Se o fator de impacto é o do artigo citado, pode um pesquisador, que tenha publicado em um periódico de alto fator de impacto, ser bem avaliado justamente pelos outros artigos que ali se encontram e que erigiram aquele fator de impacto? Um artigo de pequeno fator de impacto, publicado junto com outro de elevado fator de impacto, pode receber a métrica que seria atribuída ao periódico? Pode, por fim, o periódico ser responsabilizado por uma métrica geral que será atribuída a cada pesquisador? Fundamentalmente é preciso se perguntar: Em que essa medida aprimora e melhora o processo de avaliação? De que modo ela ajusta os critérios de justiça, para ter um processo mais equitativo para todos os envolvidos? Em que parte das decisões tomadas para o encerrado quadriênio alguém deixou um mínimo expediente concreto voltado para valorizar e aprimorar a contribuição dos veículos que asseguram a mediação de todo o processo, a saber, os periódicos? Para evitar fazer um Qualis dos Artigos, decidiu-se fazer um Qualis dos Periódicos, e agora nos encontramos em um momento em que essa proposta exibe toda a sua inconsistência para os mediadores, porque ela descentra o editor com questões alheias à veiculação do conhecimento científico. E de maneira irracional, sem direito à instância de apelação, sem um necessário norte estabelecido antes dos crivos orientadores do processo, nos entregaremos agora a um processo de avaliação decidido ao final do decurso do quadriênio, e que, para salvar mais um herói internacional, a ciclópica cientometria, desconsidera todo o esforço histórico dos periódicos para veicular e publicizar a produção científica no país. Isso posto, passemos então à apresentação do septuagésimo segundo número, que sobreviveu a esse quadriênio, e viçou em terreno impróprio, contra todas as regras, antieuclidianamente. [...]. (shrink)

DR JOSEPH BOBIK’S article The First Part of the Third Way is a notable contribution to the literature on the subject. Anybody who has wrestled with the text itself—a text as profound and disconcerting as anything St Thomas has written—will be grateful for the many fine elucidations the article provides, and will be grateful especially for the fact that he has kept to the text itself as given in Summa Theologiae I, q 2, a 3 and has not read into (...) it some argument of his own. This method is particularly helpful and fruitful when there is question of pointing to a flaw in the argument. Against Kant and against most critics of the argument no defence is possible, for no real effort has been made to understand the argument in its own terms, within its own ‘thought-world’—one can of course insist that the attack is misdirected, but this kind of non-discussion scarcely serves the common pursuit of truth and will never enlarge anybody’s horizons. Dr Bobik, on the other hand, is able to point to the exact proposition in the text which he finds faulty and he is in a position to situate this proposition in the general context of Thomist metaphysics. In such circumstances there is everything to be gained by a further examination of the proposition and its context. (shrink)

PATHOS is not the same thing as suffering, though, of course, it is bound up with suffering, just as it is bound up with contingency and loneliness. We suffer when somebody dies whom we loved, but pathos makes its appearance only when we turn up a letter and find in it some characteristic turn of expression, brave and cheerful perhaps in face of pain or disappointment, or an old jacket, or a pipe, or things arranged in a certain way in (...) a bedroom or kitchen. Not that pathos has to wait on death: the boy in John McGahern’s novel The Dark sits by the fire at night after his father has gone to bed, and his mood of enmity and disgust is disturbed and broken by the sight of the heavy country shoes his father had thrown carelessly aside—he meets pathos for the first time, and is deeply changed by it, even though the external father-son relationship seems to remain unchanged.…What has happened in this case is that the boy’s personality has been extended in the direction of manhood; suffering was nothing new to him but this was something new, a new dimension, new horizons of the spirit. In this closely argued book Professor Flew of Keele University examines the philosophical arguments in favour of theism and Christianity, and finds them inadequate. He begins by analysing the notion of ‘God’, goes on to evaluate the more usual arguments for God’s existence and, finally, takes up the question of miracles as evidence for the truth of Christianity.

This is a follow-up to The Future of Belief, and it resumes and develops all the main themes of that very controversial book: the dehellenisation of philosophy and theology, the rejection of the correspondence theory of truth, the identification of man and consciousness, the radical mutability of dogma, the assertion that God does not exist since He is beyond being, and the attendant distinction between being and reality. There is, in fact, little or nothing that is new in the way (...) of thesis or conclusion; Professor Dewart is concerned rather with re-examining and strengthening the foundations of his position. The Future of Belief was a kind of manifesto addressed to the world at large; the present book is more technical, and seems to be addressed to philosophers and theologians: at least it is doubtful whether anybody else will have the patience and mental equipment to read it through. Even at that the book is heavy going, and the task of reading it is not sufficiently lightened by the realisation that something important is being said. This, however, is a personal judgment : a very competent Catholic scholar has already hailed the Foundations as the book that will dominate Christian thinking for the next decade or so. (shrink)

Western political thought during the past two centuries has been inspired by a dream of liberation that has left it prey to ideological visions of utopia. Various attempts have been made to counteract this vulnerability, but one of the most ambitious has been relatively neglected. This is the use of the tragic vision to emphasize the limits imposed upon political action by the existence of ineliminable tensions inherent in the human condition. What is of especial interest in this connection is (...) the attempt made by Nikolai Berdyaev to bring the tragic vision to bear on the reformulation of socialism in particular. The tension between the physical space-time world and the metaphysical ‘intelligible’ world is as old as philosophy, and must always present a point of challenge and decision for every philosophical system. It is true that extreme positivism, on the one hand, and extreme idealism, on the other, avoid the tension and the challenge by ignoring one of its terms, but the mind is not long satisfied with either of these positions: as Browning’s Bishop Bloughram argues, the ‘other’ comes back to (...) demand its place no matter how energetically we try to exclude it. This book is part of the series The Herder History of Dogma edited by Michael Schmaus and Aloys Grillmeier. This context helps to define the nature and limits of the work: it is not a philosophical but a theological work, and it is not so much concerned with creation and providence as with what various theologians have said about them. In a study that ranges from Genesis to Scheeben there can be no question of a full exploration of any particular (...) writer or period, but the author has mastered most of the secondary source material, and the result is a comprehensive and balanced work of historical scholarship. Miss Murdoch finds that ‘true morality’ has its source in ‘an austere…love of the Good’. Good is the image which unites all moral striving, even though we may never quite attain to it in its purity. Philosophers who argue that Good is a mere ‘value tag of the choosing will’ are brushed aside. ‘The proper and serious use of the term refers us to a perfection which is perhaps never exemplified in the world we know…and which carries with it the (...) ideas of hierarchy and transcendence’. Головний зміст представленого дослідження складає філософсько-антропологічний аналіз проблеми пам’яті в контексті феномену забуття, суттєвих факторів ствердження нового образу української людини, її національної пам’яті та ідентичності. Вказана обставина, у ситуації оборони України від російського агресора, відстоювання свобод і європейських цінностей, ставить такі завдання: 1) здійснити послідовний огляд концептуального змісту понять "пам’ять" та "забуття" і виявити їх філософсько-антропологічний зміст; 2) провести аналіз феномену національної пам’яті та показати її значення для боротьби українського народу за європейський вибір; 3) дослідити основні параметри процесу формування (...) системи нових цінностей у контексті феномену забуття в дискурсі філософської антропології. Теоретичний базис. Складний і динамічний процес формування української ідентичності в контекстах національної пам’яті і забуття виводить систему цінностей життя на новий рівень теоретико-методологічного осмислення. Філософсько-антропологічний вимір цінностей сучасної української людини дозволяє залучити методологічні дискурси memory studies, які є способом конструювання людьми свого історичного минулого в перспективі створення нового майбутнього в цілісності аксіологічного, морального та екзистенційного змісту. Актуальність поставленої проблеми обумовлена кризою світоглядно-культурних смислів буття людини в умовах війни, процеси якої здійснюють потужний вплив на всі аспекти соціального, політичного, духовного життя, що зрештою призводить до необхідності нового типу спілкування, мислення й поведінки. Наукова новизна. Обґрунтовано, що феномен забуття в контексті формування нової національної пам’яті в значній мірі визначає стратегію ствердження української ідентичності в умовах сучасних цивілізаційних викликів, які постали перед Україною в результаті військової агресії проти її свободи і територіальної цілісності. Ця ситуація відкриває нові перспективи формування цивілізаційної системи цінностей у взаємодії з якісно іншим образом української людини. Висновки. Сьогодні українська держава перебуває перед екзистенціальною загрозою, що актуалізує проблему творення нової української людини, світогляд і система цінностей якої відповідають образу європейської людини. Незважаючи на серйозні проблеми, які постали перед Україною в результаті геополітичних суперечностей світового масштабу, філософсько-антропологічний аналіз показав, що стратегія формування нової української ідентичності в контексті історичної пам’яті, яка містить елемент забуття, обумовлює процес творення менталітету, що відповідає національній стратегії входження в західну цивілізацію. Саме в параметрах такого аналізу здійснюється формування нової пам’яті, адекватної запитам сучасності. (shrink)

EXISTENCE EXISTS. I imagine that this statement will seem to many people to be either meaningless or false or pointless. In what follows I shall try to show that the statement is meaningful, true, important.

The symplectic structures (brackets, Hamilton's equations, and Lagrange's equations) for the Dirac electron and its classical model have exactly the same form. We give explicitly the Poisson brackets in the dynamical variables (x μ,p μ,v μ,S μv). The only difference is in the normalization of the Dirac velocities γμγμ=4 which has significant consequences.

In the first of these two lectures Professor Hart is concerned with certain controversies and changes of attitude towards the question of moral guilt—mens rea,’ the guilty mind’—in criminal proceedings according to English law. There is, on the one hand and at one extreme, the attitude of the McNaughten Rules which excludes guilt only in the case of a ‘defect of reason’; at the other extreme there is the modern position, represented by Lady Wootton according to which the conception of (...) metis rea should be dropped altogether—criminal proceedings are concerned with ‘social hygiene’ and have nothing to do with responsibility: the question of responsibility comes up only after a verdict has been reached in estimating what steps are likely to have the best consequences for the ‘criminal’ and for society. Between these extremes Professor Hart takes a kind of middle course, what he calls ‘a moderate form of the new doctrine’: ‘Under this scheme mens rea would continue to be a necessary condition of liability to be investigated and settled before conviction except so far as it relates to mental abnormality. The innovation would be that the accused person would not be able to adduce any form of mental abnormality as a bar to conviction. The question of his mental abnormality would under this scheme be investigated only after conviction and would primarily be concerned with his present rather than his past mental state’. He admits that there are some practical difficulties against this view, but he does not consider the theoretical difficulty that the theory does away with the principle that criminal conviction must be based on guilt and responsibility. The scope of this book is accurately stated in the title and subtitle. It provides a clear outline of the main Marxist concepts and theses grouping them around the central concept of the ideal of the authentic man—the working man in a worker’s state freed from the alienations and estrangements of ‘capitalist’ society. Dr Koren is neither Marxist nor anti-Marxist, and he rounds off each chapter with some critical reflexions. The criticism is well-balanced, erudite, unpolemical. The author knows his texts (...) too well to accuse Marx of attacking private property or of defending a crude materialism. He presses gently but firmly on the weak points of the Marxist system: its inherent tendency towards oligarchy and dictatorship, its oversimplification of the class struggle, its assumption that human development cannot advance beyond Communism. The nineteenth century historian Hauréau dismissed St Anselm’s logical treatise De Grammatico as a mere ‘agreeable exercise’ and a contemporary historian such as Gilson can write a comprehensive study of the ‘father of Scholasticism’ without mentioning it even once. Nevertheless the medieval tradition took Anselm the logician very seriously, so much so that it is as a logician that he is honoured in Dante’s Paradiso There is, in fact, not a little concerning logic in the philosophical and theological treatises which, (...) moreover, evidence throughout a very subtle use of logic. There is, therefore, some grounds for hoping that an examination of St Anselm’s thought from the standpoint of the neglected De Grammatico might produce some interesting results. This is the task that Dr Henry has undertaken and the results are more than interesting. They are quite amazing. (shrink)

The intensive development of the religious and ecclesiastical sphere, which was called to life by the democratic changes in Ukraine in the early 1990s, contributed to the rapid quantitative growth of educational institutions. According to statistics of the State Committee of Ukraine for Religious Affairs, as of 2005, there were nearly 10 thousand Sunday schools and 173 religious educational institutions of different religious affiliations and structures, a quarter of which belong to the Orthodox branch of Christianity. Looks into evaluation of information provision probability from different sources, based on use of linguistic variables. Formation of functions appurtenant for its unclear variables provides for adoption of decisions by the decision maker, in conditions of nonprobabilistic equivocation. The development of market relations in Ukraine increases the independence and responsibility of enterprises in justifying and making management decisions that ensure their effective, competitive activities. As a result of the analysis, it is determined that the condition of economic facilities can be (...) described and determined by the decision-maker, in the presence of the necessary information. The confidence of the decision-maker in the information received is different and the decisions made have a correspondingly different level of information risk. It is important to substantiate the procedure for assessing the numerical extent of information risk in decision-making based on the information obtained in conditions of uncertainty. The use of a linguistic variable in the processing of expert data presented in the form of a matrix of binary relations of values of the membership function, which allowed to move to further processing of knowledge to support decision-making in the management of industrial, commercial, financial and other activities. As a mathematical model for estimating the numerical measure of information risk when making decisions based on the information obtained in conditions of non-stochastic uncertainty, a model has been developed to model natural language uncertainties, which differs from existing ones by formalizing knowledge taking into account uncertainty of input information. Making such a clear decision in a fuzzy environment has appropriate values of effectiveness and risk. The paper proposes all the functions and accessories of indicators of both quantitative nature and qualitative nature to bring their values in the field of definition to one scale. Then the indicator of the effectiveness of decision-making will be a measure of the clarity of the cross-section of fuzzy subsets, which correspond to the introduced indicators of information risk. The condition of economic facilities can be described and determined by the decision-maker, if the necessary information is available. Decision-making on thenumerical measure of information risk must be determined by a set of basic indicators, which can be both quantitative and qualitative in nature. Predictive values of indicators should be determined in conditions of nonstochastic uncertainty. In this case, the indicators of a quantitative nature can be determined by fuzzy triangular numbers, which implement a high level of confidence in the subjective judgments of experts. Indicators of qualitative nature should be presented in linguistic variables. The values of the indicators of qualitative nature that are predicted must be considered for all fuzzy variable terms-sets of linguistic variables introduced into consideration. For any fuzzy variable, the introduction to the consideration of a clear set of values as carriers of the α-level of its membership function allows to reduce to a single interpretation of the predicted values of indicators of quantitative and qualitative nature in terms of non-stochastic uncertainty. This book is a putting together of articles published in Louvain philosophical and theological journals over the past few years. The collection has more unity and continuity of theme than is usual in this kind of book, and one has the impression that Canon Van Riet had the book in mind when he wrote the articles. Although it is a series of studies rather than a continuous treatise, it is, in the judgement of the present reviewer, the best book that (...) has appeared in recent years on the philosophy of religion. Resumen La literatura universal, se encuentra poblada de arquetípicos que comparten una condición de desamparo y marginalidad, siendo la literatura realista de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX la que constata y da cuenta de su condición. En un mismo sentido, también la Biblia presenta un sinnúmero de personajes similares, marcando un punto de inflexión al llamarlo bienaventurados. Así pues, el presente estudio bíblico-literario, se centra en el arquetipo de la “viuda pobre”, sosteniendo dicha ficción literaria es una clave interpretativa (...) de la realidad, a la luz de la teoría literaria de la Estética de la Recepción. El articulo estudia la “viuda pobre” como un imaginario cultural y estableciendo la recepción de dicho imaginario en los cuentos “El Chiflón del diablo” y “El pago” del escritor chileno Baldomero Lillo, demostrando cómo el dialogo entre cultura y Biblia representa un aporte a la comprensión de determinadas ficciones literarias como categorías antropológicas.Universal literature is crowded by archetypical characters who share abandonment and marginalization conditions, being second half 19,h century realistic literature that confirms and exposes those conditions. In that sense, The Holy Bible presents a number of those characters. Resides, it highlights a turning point, hence, The Beatitudes point out: “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”. Thus, the following biblical-literary study, centered in the “Poor widow” archetype, aims to the establishment of literary fiction as interpretative key of reality, under Wolfgang Iser Aesthetics Reception's theory as its methodology. The objective aims to postulate “Poor Widow” as a Cultural imaginary, and finally to establish the reception of that imaginary within the stories “El Chiflón del Diablo” and “El Pago” by the chilean writer Baldomero Lillo, demonstrating that the dialog between culture and The Holy Bible represents a contribution to some literary fiction s as anthropological categories.
